Where: The Appalachian Mountain Club's Highland Center in Crawford Notch, New Hampshire
When: Friday morning, February 25, 2011 through 1 P.M. on Sunday, February 27, 2011
Cost: $549.00 for AMC members, $579.00 for non-members. Includes instruction, lodging, and all meals from Friday lunch through Sunday lunch.
Who should attend:Beginner and intermediate photographers wanting to learn the specifics of photographing in winter conditions, while shooting in some of the White Mountains most scenic locations.

Description: This workshop is based in the heart of New Hampshire's White Mountains at the Appalachian Mountain Club's signature lodge - The Highland Center in Crawford Notch. We will spend approximately 2 hours per day inside learning how to get the best images possible from your cameras. The rest of our time will be spent exploring nearby locales and photographing mountain landscapes, paying special attention to the unique qualities of winter light. Specific shooting locations for each day will be determined the night before based on weather forecasts and snow conditions. Though we won't be doing any strenuous hiking, you may be expected to walk up to three miles on snowshoes (to be provided by AMC) with up to 300 feet of elevation gain. Appropriate winter boots and clothing are required.
Lodging: More information about the Highland Center is available at the AMC website. The above rates assume you stay in a bunk room (2, 4, or 6 people per room.) Private rooms are available for an additional fee.
Meals: As mentioned above, meals from lunch on Friday through lunch on Sunday are included in the workshop fee. Breakfast and dinner will be in the Highland Center dining room. We will have bag lunches ready to take with us on our field trips. Please mention any dietary restrictions when you register.
Transportation: Participants are required to provide their own transportation to the workshop. Transportation to photo locations during the workshop will be via an AMC van.
