Maximum Group Size: 10

Description: Columbus Day Weekend is peak foliage time in Maine's Acadia National Park, and it is a great time to photograph the park's rocky shorelines amid a backdrop of hillsides ablaze in fall colors. In this workshop, we will explore the beauty of Acadia's pink granite shorelines, it's lush and colorful interior forests, and the views from the park's bald peaks. Indoor instruction will include one hour per day of lectures covering composition and close-up techniques. We will also have the opportunity for at least one critique session where we review the images we shoot during the workshop. The workshop schedule will be flexible so that we can be out shooting in the best light possible for the subject matter. Jerry will draw on his twenty years of experience shooting in Acadia National Park and his experience in writing his three books about the park when determining the best photo locations.

Lectures and critique sessions will be held at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel in Bar Harbor.

Lodging: Participants are not required to stay at the Atlantic Oceanside, but special rates are available for workshop participants. Lodging rates (per night) are $159.00 for single and double occupancy, $174.00 for triple occupancy and $189.00 for quadruple occupancy. Participants are required to make their own lodging reservations by calling the hotel at (800) 336-2463 or on-line at www.barharbor.com. Numerous camping and lodging options are available in the area. For other lodging suggestions, e-mail Jerry at nature@ecophotography.com.
