Description: Late June is a great time to visit and photograph the iconic landscapes of Acadia National Park. In this workshop, we will explore the beauty of Acadia's pink granite shorelines, it's lush interior forests, the views from the park's bald peaks, and the intimate details of wild and garden flowers. Indoor instruction will include one to two hours per day of lectures covering composition, close-up techniques, and digital imaging skills using Photoshop and Lightroom. We will also have the opportunity for several critique sessions where we review the images we shoot during the workshop. The workshop schedule will be flexible so that we can be out shooting in the best light possible for the subject matter. Jerry will draw on his twenty years of experience shooting in Acadia National Park and his experience in writing his three books about the park when determining the best photo locations.
Lectures and critique sessions will be held at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel in Bar Harbor.
Lodging: Participants are not required to stay at the Atlantic Oceanside, but special rates are available for workshop participants. Lodging rates (per night) are $139.00 for single and double occupancy, $154.00 for triple occupancy and $169.00 for quadruple occupancy. Participants are required to make their own lodging reservations by calling the hotel at (800) 336-2463 or on-line at www.barharbor.com. Numerous camping and lodging options are available in the area. For other lodging suggestions, e-mail Jerry at nature@ecophotography.com.
Meals: Lunches are included with the workshop fee and will be provided either as bag lunches or in local restaurants, depending on our shooting schedule for the day. Breakfasts and dinners are not included in the workshop fee, but participants will have the opportunity to eat these meals with the group or own their own. The workshop fee does include one dinner at a local seafood restaurant.
